A Forty Year Old Perspective

My view at 40….

  1. It is disturbing that your dentist and physician are younger than you.
  2. You have succumbed to bifocals.
  3. You occasionally walk into a room and forget why you went in there.
  4. You skip encores because you want to get home at a reasonable hour.
  5. The president of the United States is in your age group.
  6. Two words: sensible shoes – they are still UGGS though!
  7. When friends book a reservation for nine p.m., you want to shoot them in the head.
  8. You realize there are smart, grown-up people born in 1990.
  9. Your joints are starting to forecast rain better than the local weather channel.
  10. You can admit that when you were growing up, your cell phone worked by plugging it into your car’s cigarette lighter and the internet did not exist.
  11. You typed your college papers on a typewriter or “word processor” instead of a computer.
  12. The “I just woke up” face of your 30’s is the permanent face of your 40’s.

Welcome to my first venture into the world of blogging! Why the name for this blog you may ask? For a long time those who surrounded me tried to "fix" me. It took me a long time to realize I AM NOT BROKEN! Hence, I do not need fixed. Life has thrown so many unexpected things my way as it does for so many of us. I have learned it is all just a part of my journey. What really counts is what you do with that knowledge you have acquired along the way. So stay tuned and thanks for choosing to continue on my journey with me.
